Cairn.info expands its catalogue with the ‘Science, Technology and Medicine’ interface

As part of the complete overhaul of its website, Cairn.info is announcing the launch of its enriched interface dedicated to science, technology and medicine (STM). This project, which marks a turning point in the platform's development, is based on the extension of the offer initiated in 2022 with “Cairn Sciences”, to meet the growing expectations of users in these fields.

Launched in 2022 as a dedicated platform, “Cairn Sciences” offered access to a large catalogue of books and manuals covering the formal, natural and technical sciences. More than 1,000 French-language titles in mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, agronomy and engineering sciences were made available to students, teachers and researchers, meeting the need for access to high-quality French-language scientific content.

In 2024, Cairn.info is taking a further step forward by including a broader selection of medical content in its offering, providing complete coverage of all fields of science, technology and medicine (STM). Users of the new interface will benefit from a rich, structured catalogue of ebooks and journals, including publications from partner publishers such as JLE Editions, EDP Sciences, In Press, Médecine & Hygiène and Les Presses des Mines.

The new interface is part of Cairn.info's drive to offer an optimised and personalised consultation experience. Thanks to a powerful search engine, and advanced features such as:

  • Conferences and interviews with authors to explore the latest scientific and technical advances;
  • Themed reading lists and dossiers created by experts to highlight major contemporary issues;
  • Enhanced author pages, providing easy access to their publications and research.

This ecosystem of services offers users personalised pathways, encouraging the discovery of new resources and the dialogue between scientific disciplines.

With this extension of its catalogue, Cairn.info is reaffirming its mission to promote the dissemination of French-language knowledge and ensure that it is accessible to as many people as possible. The inclusion of medical sciences is part of the interdisciplinary dynamic of the platform, which is now unified in a single portal that enables cross-disciplinary consultation between the humanities and social sciences, legal and administrative sciences, and technical and medical sciences.
